Virgil Allen Adamson “Bigfoot,” 63, of Hoxie, departed this life on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born on September 6, 1961, in Jonesboro to Red and Mary Adamson.
Virgil was a lifelong resident of Hoxie and attended Arbor Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver for Kennedy Trucking and was famously known by his handle, “Bigfoot.” Virgil loved buffets, watching westerns, and anything related to the mafia, with The Sopranos being one of his favorites. He also had a goal of traveling the country and visiting every state with the love of his life, Karen Camp. The most important thing in life for Virgil was supporting his grandkids and family in all their sports and activities. His TV was a close second to his family, though.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Red and Mary Adamson. He is survived by the love of his life, Karen Camp; his sons, Jacob (Amy) Adamson, Owen (Stephanie) Camp, and Jeff Camp; his daughter, Megan (Corey) Zirbel; his brother, Steve (Julie) Adamson; his sister, Leeann Paxton; the mother of his son, Vickie Adamson; his grandchildren, Parker Adamson, Waylon Adamson, Mary Grace Adamson, Ross Camp, Reese Camp, Reagan (Braiden) Burzynski, Georgie Zirbel, and AJ Zirbel; his great-grandchildren, Tate and Hadley Burzynski; his nephews, Noah (Emma) Adamson, Paul Adamson, and Mark (Brittany) Paxton; his niece, Ashley (Jeff) Estes; and his great-nephews, Kamden Adamson and Lance Paxton; and great-niece, Tinley Paxton.
A celebration of life will be held at Arbor Grove Free Will Baptist Church on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Bro. Kevin Roberts. Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue until the start of the service.
Those honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are Tommy Gray, Jackie Cude, Allen Williams, Keith Fisher, Ron Jones, Ryan Jones, Glen Kennedy, Marvin Kennedy, T.C., Dean Hancock, Jeremy Cunningham, Marty Hutchinson, Blake Hutchinson, and Jonathan Hutchinson.
