Viola Wilford Pratt

September 17, 1918 — January 13, 2011

Viola Wilford Pratt, 92, of Paragould, formerly of Jonesboro, died Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Greene Acres Nursing Home. Having lived most of her life in Jonesboro, she was an active member of the Fisher Street United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, a lifetime member of the Civitan Club, and a Gideon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillis Pratt, Sr.; parents, Charlie and Lena Gambill; brothers, Bill Gambill, Pete Gambill and Herbert Gambill; sisters, Ruby Mitchell and Jane Emerson.

Survivors include son, Hillis Pratt, Jr. and wife Nivea of Mineral, Virginia; daughter, Sara Dickey and husband Bruce of Paragould; brother, Richard Gambill; sister, Lundie Bridger both of Jonesboro; grandson, Sam Dickey and wife Andrea; granddaughter, Sally Cunningham and husband Wayne; great granddaughters, Berry Ann and Ella; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, January 17, 2011 at Fisher Street United Methodist Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Nancy Rainwater officiating. Tom Jackson and Hillis Pratt, Jr. will serve as eulogists. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery with nephews, Glenn Bridger, Randy Emerson, Charlie Emerson, Dr. Greg Gambill, Darren Gambill, Gary Gambill, Pat Gambill, Pinky Pratt, Jerry Howard, Randall Pratt and Robert Pratt serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the ladies of the United Methodist Women. Visitation will be from 5-7 Sunday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
