Obituary

Vicki Jane Rampley, 72, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on February 21, 1954, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to the late Roger and Alice “Petie” Parrott.

Vicki was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. Throughout her career, she served as Vice President of Sales and Chief Operating Officer of Arkansas Glass Container in Jonesboro. She was deeply committed to serving others and generously gave her time and talents to numerous organizations, including the United Way and Up With People, an organization through which she met her husband, Tony. She was also heavily involved with John 3:16 Ministries, a ministry that held a special place in her heart.

One of the most meaningful chapters of Vicki’s life began in 2002, when a group of young men known as the “Lost Boys of Sudan,” who had been displaced by the Second Sudanese Civil War, resettled in Jonesboro. Vicki and Arkansas Glass Container played an instrumental role in sponsoring and welcoming twelve of these young men to the community. Vicki and Tony embraced them as family, helping them adjust to life in America and providing the love, guidance, and support of a home and family. The young men later established the Cush Foundation in 2004, continuing a legacy of helping refugees while preserving their cultural history. Vicki’s relationship with the Lost Boys remained a reflection of the compassion, generosity, and devotion to others that characterized her life.

Vicki had a wonderful sense of humor and loved laughing, singing, shopping, fashion, and going out to eat. She had a creative talent for making beautiful floral arrangements and especially enjoyed family gatherings. Caring for others came naturally to Vicki, and she was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved and making sure everyone was taken care of.

In addition to her parents, Roger and Petie Parrott, Vicki was preceded in death by her son, Chad Rampley.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Tony Rampley of Jonesboro; brother, Jeff Parrott (Kathy) of Jackson, Wyoming; sister, Robbie McCain (Rich) of Jonesboro; grandchild, Christian Rampley; and nieces and nephews, Allie Parrott, Maddy Parrott, Jesse McCain, Jeffrey McCain, Kacie McClain, and Dana Wofford.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Emerson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. John Miles officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to John 3:16 Ministries through the organization’s website, john316thecure.com.
