Vick Copeland, 62, of Jonesboro, died April 27, 2012 at the Allegiance Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville. He was born in Monette and had lived in the Monette and Brookland areas his entire life. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He worked with his father in farming until 1985. After farming, he drove a truck for Thermogas. While driving for the gas company he enjoyed stopping and visiting with the farmers on his route. He loved his job. He also enjoyed camping.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Copeland, of the home; his son and his fiancée, Derek Copeland and Ashley Nalley; his daughter and her husband, Dana & Chris Erwin; grandchildren, Dylan Johnston, Haden Erwin, Tosha Rouse; great grandson, Kason Rouse; his brothers, Sammy Copeland, Gary Copeland, all of Jonesboro; and his sister, Jo Ella Copeland Taylor of Cisco, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. “Dub” & Imogene Wallace Copeland.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. W.C. Holt officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Green, Wayne Rolland, Jerry Haff, Junior Cooper, James Reece, and Jeff Mink. His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be Sunday, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
