Vestal Leah Willett, 89, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Monday morning, June 11, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
A native and life-long resident of Jonesboro, Mrs. Willett was a homemaker and a member of the Community of Christ Church where she was a pianist and singer. She was also a Sunday school teacher and was active in the Woodsie Jackson Quilting Circle.
Mrs. Willett was a 4-H leader and a member of the Philadelphia Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband: J.C. Willett, her parents: James and Linnie Jackson Green; a sister: Muriel Scarbrough; a granddaughter: Melissa Bednar; and a daughter-in-law: Marigene Willett.
Survivors include:
4 Daughters:
Connie and Ray Bednar of Hazen,
Bonnie Goad of Jonesboro,
Gayle Gambill and Fred Barnett of Jonesboro, and
Chris and Bob Morse of Jacksonville;
1 Son: Randy Willett of Jonesboro;
3 Sisters: Gladys Loveless, and
Janice Turner, both of Jonesboro, and
Jo Cooper of Bastrop, Louisiana;
1 Brother: James Jackson “Jack” Green of Norman, Oklahoma;
18 Grandchildren, and
19 Great Grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday morning, June 14, 2007, at 10:30 in Holy Cross Cemetery with Minister John Sawyer officiating.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
