Vernon Neal Sr.

Vernon Neal Sr., 88, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born to the late John and Clara Neal on July 9, 1928 in Kensett, Arkansas. Vernon served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Elizabeth. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier after 30 years of service. In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his brother, Steve Tooley; sisters, Wanda Evatt, Johnny Archambo, Dorothy Smith, and Hazel Wandless.

Vernon leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Martha Neal; son, Vernon Buster Neal (Barbara) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Bobby Neal of Jonesboro and John Neal (Karen) of Little Rock.

A graveside service will be held at 2:15 pm on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Nettleton Cemetery. The visitation will be prior to the service at Emerson Funeral Home starting at 1:00 pm.
