Vernon Mather

Vernon J. “Vern” Mather, 73, of Bay, Arkansas, formerly of Matteson, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was the past president of Sertoma, a girls softball coach and an avid Chicago Bears and White Sox fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Vern is survived and loved by his wife of 47 years, Janice Mather, of the home; one son, Adam Mather and wife, Kelly of Corinth, Mississippi; one daughter, Jennifer Novalick and husband James of Bay; one brother Clifford Mather, Chicago, Illinois. He was also survived by and dearly loved his three grandchildren, Kimberly Novalick, Connie Novalick and Jessica Elinkowski,. All services will be announced at a later date by Emerson Funeral Home.
