Vernon Bill Cook

September 25, 1931 — February 24, 2009

Vernon Bill Cook, Jonesboro, died Tuesday at his home. Born in Cherry Valley, he spent most of his life in Harrisburg, moving to Jonesboro 10 years ago. He was a sports fan and Pentecostal preacher.

He is survived by his sons, Tommy and Lyndon Cook; step-son, Ronny Long, all of Jonesboro; daughter, Donna Gardner, Weiner; step-daughter, Barbara Campbell, Amagon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Cook, his parents, step-son, Billy Joe Long, 2 brothers, and one sister.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Weiner City Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.
