Vernalee (Hall) Johnson, 73, of Jonesboro departed this life on February 6, 2024, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born to Virgil and Naomi Hall in St. Charles, Missouri on December 23, 1950.
Vernalee spent the majority of her life in Jonesboro and was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a manager at Dolly Madison Bakery until her retirement. She loved Christmas and family gatherings which reflected her joyous spirit and the importance she placed on creating lasting memories with those she held dear. Being around her family and playing with her grandkids were some of the greatest joys of her life.
Vernalee is preceded in death by her parents, as well as four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ronnie Johnson, who stood by her side through life's joys and challenges. Vernalee leaves behind a lasting legacy through her two sons, Rob (Peggy) Johnson and Tim (Stephanie) Johnson. She is also survived by two brothers, Eddie and Dale Hall. She was a proud grandmother to Beau Johnson, Clint Roberts, Mallory Roberts, Taylor (Andrew) Farr, and Shelby Johnson. Additionally, she delighted in the joy brought by her three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Vernalee's life will be held on Saturday, February 10 at 2:00 PM, at Emerson Funeral Home officiated by her nephew Dr. Victor Chamness. There will be a visitation prior to the service starting at 1:00 PM till the time of service.
