Verna Lou Brown

Verna Lou Brown, 85, of Jonesboro passed from this life Wednesday, January 25, 2017. She was born June 4, 1931 in Lorado to the late Emery and Lucy Dennis. Verna Owned and operated Browns Tire and Auto for over 20 years. She also worked for Sears as an assistant manager for 17 years. Verna was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a strong woman who loved her family. Verna loved growing roses and enjoyed giving them away to people she came across.

In addition to her parents, Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Berl Brown and a sister, Geneva Berry.

Survivors include her son, Mark (Kathy) Brown of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Nicholas Brown of San Antonio, Texas and 3 nieces: Gene Owens, Kay Taylor and Shirley Taylor.

Funeral service will be Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
