Verda Raye Mcdole

July 21, 1937 — January 18, 2020

Verda Raye McDole, 82, of Bay passed from this life Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice with her family by her side while listening to Amazing Grace. She was born to the late Robert Elisha and Ethel Viola Wicker on July 21, 1937 in Bay. Verda lived the majority of her life in Bay and was a member of the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a Bookkeeper for Crowleys Ridge Development Council for 30 years. Verda was a lifelong seamstress and was an avid dog lover. She enjoyed playing games, especially bowling and scrabble.
In addition to her parents, Verda was preceded in death by two brothers, and two sisters.
Verda is survived by her husband of 52 years, James C. McDole, of the home; two daughters, Roxeen Gove of Bay and Deborah Smallmon Rasdon of Mustang, OK; three grandchildren, Ashly Dawn Addison, Tami Jo (Darrell) Sanders, and Krystle Rasdon (Noel) Kearns; eleven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren,
A visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, January 20, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home with Rick Jensen officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer will be Lamar Jennings.
