V.C. Wheeler Jr, 75, of Memphis passed from this life on Monday, December 20, 2021. He was born on November 1, 1946 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late V.C. and Alice Wheeler. V.C. worked for the railroad when he was younger and he also liked to collect and rebuild vintage radios. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. V.C. was of the Protestant faith and in addition to his parents is preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Riddle.

V.C. is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen Wheeler of Memphis; sons, Abe Riddle (Stephanie) of Medina, Tennessee and Isaac Riddle (Jamie) of Olive Branch; daughters, Tamara Rutledge (Mark) of San Antonio, Erica Bills (Brian) of Arlington, Tennessee, Meredith Riddle of Seattle, and Allison Riddle of Memphis; brothers, Robert Whitlock (Veronica) and Wayne Wheeler (Joy); and sister, M.A. Wheeler. V.C. also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home. V.C.’s lifelong friend, Jim Burgess, will be an honorary pallbearer.
