Vada Virginia Bradley, 91, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, at Craighead Nursing Center.
Born in Cord, Arkansas, Vada lived in Batesville before moving to Jonesboro in 1951. She was a homemaker as well as a business owner. She and her husband Otis operated the Milky Way Drive In for a few years in the early to middle 1960s. Following the Milky Way, Vada worked several years for Mother Goose Nursery in Jonesboro before her retirement.
Vada was a charter member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed Southern Gospel music and quartet singing. She was a fan of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals and the Memphis Grizzlies Basketball. She enjoyed playing card games with her family and friends and cooking and doing favors for others.
Vada was preceded in death by her parents: Wayne and Portia Barber Hatler; husband Otis Bradley, daughter Renee Bradley, and three brothers: Dick Hatler, Ivan Hatler and Jerry Hatler.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Phyllis and Gene Brooks of Jonesboro;
2 sons and daughters-in-law: Danny and Phyllis Bradley of Marion, and Gene and Greta Bradley of Jonesboro;
8 grandchildren and their spouses: Cynthia and Mike Fuqua, Richard and Paula Brooks, Zac and Ashley Bradley, Mary Katherine and Andrew Laxton, Shayna and Landon Wood, Kim Bradley, Tyson Bradley and Chelsea and Travis Hopkins;
16 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Danny Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00-11:00.
Pallbearers include Zac Bradley, Tyson Bradley, Jay Fuqua, Jonathan Fuqua, Justin Fuqua and Jared Fuqua.
