Ulyess B. Catlett

Ulyess B. Catlett, 90, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born November 16, 1922, at Booneville, Arkansas.

Ulyess was preceded in death by his parents, Homer D. Catlett and Mae Catlett McDaniel, and two sisters, Maurine Sloan Murphy and Norma Sharp.

He is survived by one daughter and her husband, Catherine and Tommy Henderson of Jonesboro.

Ulyess was a long-time resident of Benton, Arkansas, where he retired from the Benton Street Department in 1987. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping, hunting and fishing. As a young man, he was a popular fiddle player for many of square dances around Booneville.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 in Bud Davis Cemetery south of Booneville with Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating. There will be no visitation.

Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
