Tyrina Leigh Cornwell, 20, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, October 15, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
A native and life-long resident of Jonesboro, Tyrina was Assistant Manager of Subway on Southwest Drive in Jonesboro. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Doris Washington.
Survivors include her parents: Cathy and Wil Amiths of Jonesboro;
Her father: David Washington of Jonesboro;
1 son: Javiar Liggins of the home;
1 daughter: LaToya Liggins of the home;
2 brothers: Dameon Washington and Demarius Flowers, both of Jonesboro;
1 sister: April Flowers of Jonesboro;
Her maternal grandmother: Shirley Cothern of Greers Ferry; and
Her paternal grandfather: Fletcher Washington of Jonesboro;
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Allen Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include: Derrick Washington, Eric Washington, Cedric Washington, Mike Warren, Rico Haggins and Corey Ross.
Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.
For lasting memorials, the family asks for consideration be given to a memorial fund established in Tyrina’s name at Liberty Bank in Jonesboro.
