Tula “Nanny” Arnold, 88, of Jonesboro, died Monday, March 11, 2019, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Tula had lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was born to Jim and Alice Barr in Cash. She was a member of Wood Street Assembly of God Church. Tula loved to crochet and work outside in the garden and with her flowers. She had a love for all of her family and extended family. She loved to watch whatever sport or activity they may be involved in. She traveled quite often with her grandkids to their sporting events from bowling to softball to basketball. Tula was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She could not wait for opening day each year. If the Cardinals were playing she was watching them on tv. Tula worked in property management for her brother for many years, she loved people. Her family often told her she was a mom to a lot of people. She will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Arnold; parents, one daughter, Betty Sue Carmichael; two sisters, Marie Davis and Mary Hawkins; one brother, Grover Barr and one son-in-law, Frankie Carruth.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Jane Carruth, Karen Arnold, and Elizabeth (Joey) Troutman; brother, JT (Sybel) Barr; granddaughter, Brittney (Nathan) Casebeer all of Jonesboro: grandson, Allen (Terri) Carmichael of Lake City; Brandon Troutman of Jonesboro; great grandson, Bryant (Kira) Carmichael; Brooks Carmichael; Bostan Carmichael and a great great grandson, Bryson Carmichael.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Floyd Ray, James Moore officiating and Andy Neal will officiate at the graveside. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and burial will follow at Worley Cemetery with Allen Carmichael, Bryant Carmichael, Michael Hawkins, Phillip Barr, James Barr, Nathan Casebeer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Joey Troutman, Brittney Arnold Casebeer, Brandon Troutman, Bostan Carmichael, Bryson, Carmichael, Brooks Carmichael, Morris Watkins and the nurses of 4 East at NEA Hospital and the nurses and staff at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice house. Visitation will be from 5-7 Wednesday night at Emerson Memorial Chapel. The family requests you wear your St. Louis Cardinal attire or Cardinal red and help them celebrate her life.
