Tsgt. Chester Brown, Jr.

November 17, 1939 — December 24, 2015

TSgt Chester Owen Brown, Jr., U.S. Air National Guard, 76, of rural Harrisburg, died on Thursday, December 24, 2015, at his home of natural causes.

Chester served over 20 years in the military before retiring and moving to Arkansas in 1981 to be with his twin sister Beverly Mitchell and brother-in-law Frank Mitchell. The Mitchells welcomed Chester to their farm near Harrisburg where they raised horses and cattle.

Chester is preceded in death by his parents: Mittye Louise Brown Germany and Chester Owen Brown, Sr. of Jackson, Mississippi, and daughter Melissa Brown Nance of Yazoo City, Mississippi.

Survivors include his son, Chester Owen Brown, III, (Trace), and daughter Joyce Ann Brown Cox and 6 grandchildren: April Nitaka Starrett, Billy Leon Simpson, Patrick Tyler Cox, Chester Owen Brown, IV (Chip), Swayze Holland and Stoner Parker who reside in Florida. Chester is also survived by his twin sister, Beverly B. Mitchell of Jonesboro, his sisters Jackie Brown Moore, presently of Florida and Montez Brown Stetson of North Carolina, and numerous nephews and nieces.
