Troy Mouzy, 86, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Monday, October 9, 2017 at NEA Baptist Hospital with family by his side.

Troy was born on May 2, 1931 to the late Thermon and Willie Ewart Mouzy in Jonesboro.  He lived his entire life in the Jonesboro area. He retired after 33 years of service from the Southern Wooden Box Company, and later went to work for the Jonesboro Public Schools. He was a very devoted Christian, and was a faithful member of North Main Baptist Church. He loved to meet and greet people that attended his church, and he would always be on the parking lot to make sure everyone got into church safely. His hobbies included tinkering in his shop, going to yard sales, and traveling to auctions in the surrounding area. He loved watching sports, especially basketball where he attended every NEA Tournament since 1967. His favorite pastime was watching all his children and grandchildren play sports.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra Carol Mouzy; son, Troy Stephen Mouzy; two brothers; and five sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Frances Pitts Mouzy of Jonesboro; son, Mark (Robin) Mouzy of Jonesboro; daughter, Kayren “Kay” (Phil) Carter of Jonesboro; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Gary Brown officiating.  Interment will directly follow at Rutherford cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brian Carter, Matthew Mouzy, Cade Carter, Randy Mouzy, David Miller, and William Peek.
