Tonya Nichols Monroe, 57, of Bay, passed from this life to her Heavenly reward on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the Ridgecrest Nursing Center. She was born in Jonesboro to R.L. and Iva Lee Nichols on July 19, 1964. She has lived in Bay for the past 12 years, moving there from Harrisburg. Tonya was a lifelong member of the Needham Baptist Church. She loved to read and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She retired from the Jonesboro Human Development Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her sons, Aaron Winningham (Morgan) of Bay; Jacob Monroe (Jamie) of Bono; daughters, Mattie Blasingame (Trevor) of Trumann; Janna Hamilton (Wade) of Bay; Kristie Morris (Josh) of Paragould; brothers, Ronnie Nichols of Brookland; Landa Nichols of Trumann; sisters, Debbie Taylor of Bono; Donna McClung of Mountain View, Arkansas; grandchildren, Grant, Lennox, Brayden, Elleigh, Malcolm, Lillian, Harleigh, Hailey, Dominick, Jep, Case and Hadlee; and many friends, coworkers and relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday night, May 12, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Private graveside services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 with Danny Russell officiating at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Zack Nichols, Steven Lynn, Caleb Farmer, Nick West, Ryan Russell, and Adam Nichols serving as pallbearers.
