Tony Parish

Tony Scott Parish, 57, of Jonesboro passed away peacefully Monday, February 14, 2022, at NEA Baptist Hospital with his family by his side.  He was born to the late LeVerl and Billie Little Parish in Jonesboro on April 2, 1964.

Tony was a 1983 graduate of Valley View High School.  After high school, he began his career farming rice, soybeans, corn and wheat. He served on the Craighead County Farmer’s Co-op Board of Directors for several years and was chosen as the Arkansas Farm Bureau and Greater Little Rock Chamber of Commerce Young Farmer & Rancher in 1990.

An avid hunter, Tony was a member of Muddy Boot Duck Hunting Club, Rocky Road Deer Hunting Club, and Beech Creek Deer Hunting Club. He was a member of Christian Valley Christian Church.

Tony loved Lake Norfork and spent countless weekends, through the years, in Mountain Home grilling for his family and friends.  He was an excellent cook.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by sisters, Linda Vaughn, Judie Ford, and Charlotte Parish; and nephew, Jonathan Owens.

Tony is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susie Yarbrough Parish of the home; son, Cody (Lindsey) Parish of Jonesboro; daughter, Cady Parish of Jonesboro; grandson, Lane Parish of Jonesboro; granddaughter, Allison Shelby of Jonesboro; brother, Barry (Linda) Parish of Imboden; in-law’s, Doyle (Pete) and Anita Yarbrough of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held at Emerson’s Funeral Home Thursday, February 17th, from 5-7 p.m.  The funeral service will be held Friday, February 18th, at 10:30 a.m. at Emerson’s Chapel.  Burial will be in McDaniel Cemetery. Officiants will be Bro. Archie Mason and Bro. Pat James.

Pallbearers will be Connor May, Clint Cansler, Jay Yarbrough, Parker Kompier, Robert Marshall, Matt Gammill, Jesus (Jesse) Sanchez, and Eulalia (Rooster) Mondragon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Baker, Dr. Randy Roberts, Greg Nall, David Hill, Tommy Johnson, Chad Furnish, Terry Moody, Mike Eaton, Brent Carpenter, Brian Ellis, Eric McGhehey and the Valley View Class of 1983.
