Tony Bill Ledbetter, 76, of Jonesboro, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Born in Malvern, Tony lived several years in Wilmington, California, before moving to Jonesboro in 1968. Tony was a truck driver most of his life and a member of the Teamsters Union for 34 years. He drove for Keen and Morgan in California for 5 years, Jones Truck Lines in Jonesboro for 21 years, and Northwestern Freight Lines in Memphis for 7 years.
Tony was a member of Nettleton United Methodist Church and the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and playing golf. He was an avid reader and enjoyed Western novels and movies. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman J., Sr. and Euvis Elizabeth Hudson Ledbetter; by a brother, Coleman "Buddy" Ledbetter, Jr.; and by 3 sisters: Inez Brown, Veral Ledbetter and Jessie McDougal.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Darr Ledbetter of the home;
3 daughters: Teresa (Lennie) Hogan of Jonesboro, Lisa (Randy) Shirley of Springdale, and Terri Ledbetter of Metairie, Louisana;
1 brother, Sammy Ledbetter of Malvern;
1 sister, Doris Jean Patrick of Malvern;
4 grandchildren: Brandi (Kevin) Liles and Matt (Kelly) Hogan of Jonesboro, Tony McKee of Brookland and Ian Shirley of Springdale;
4 great grandchidren: Hunter Liles, Tanner Liles, Drew Liles and Hayden McKee, and
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mitch Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Mark Bunch, Larry Ryan, Lonnie Ryan, Randy Shirley, Lennie Hogan and Kevin Liles.
