Tommy N. Crump

January 19, 1945 — January 11, 2007

Tommy N. Crump, 61, of Jonesboro, died Thursday evening at his home of natural causes.

Born in Marianna, Tommy lived in Germany and Oklahoma before moving to Jonesboro in 1979. He a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star Medal with “V” device. He also worked as a truck driver and welder.

Tommy was a member of South Caraway Road Baptist Church and was a graduate of Garland County Community College. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and was preceded in death by his parents: James and Oma Flowers Crump; and by 2 brothers: John Crump and James Crump.

Survivors include:

Wife: Linda Crump of the home;

2 Sons: Jerry Crump of Conway, and
Tommy Kyles of Texarkana;

3 Daughters: Diana Gean,
Sandra Simpson, and
Linda Ann William, all of Jonesboro;

2 Brothers: Larry Crump, and
Jerry O. Crump, both of Jonesboro;

7 Grandchildren: Kristain Kyles, Hilarie Williams, Dillan Williams, Erica Simpson, Eric Simpson, William Gean, and Brent Gean; and

1 Great Grandchild: Linley Butler.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Martin officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers include: Jerry Crump, Tanner Crump, Jimmy Crump, William Gean, Harold Winkles and Tommy Kyles.
Honorary pallbearers include: Ronnie Kennedy, Allan Vanderpool, Dillan Williams, Eric Simpson, and Brent Gean.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
