Tommy Edward Coots, 73, of Trumann, died Friday, July 17, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was a life long resident of Trumann and a member of First General Baptist Church of Trumann. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lenza “Boots” Coots and Wanda Lee Coots.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Coots, of the home; son, Michael Coots; daughters, Tammy and Gary Stevens; Brandy and Shayne Grimes; brothers, Steve Coots; Terry Coots; sisters, Cathy Shaw all of Trumann; Joanne Pyle of Newport; grandChildren, Sydney and JJ Alsobrook of Luther, Oklahoma; Seth Sammons; Jarred Carter of Trumann: great grandchildren, McKenzie Sammons and Reagan Sammons; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 Tuesday night at Emerson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 10:00 Wednesday morning at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Kenneth Worthington officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Jarred Carter, Brian Hamby, Jason Hamby, Seth Sammons, Derrick Coots, Chris Coots, J.J. Alsobrook and Tommy Stracener. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. W. Brian Bailey, Dr. Don Howard, Dr. James Maxwell, Dr. E.J. Scott, Jimmy Shrout, Melvin Herring, Phillip Farnsworth and Ronnie Holt.
