"Tom" John Thomas "Tom" Penn

April 8, 1934 — July 17, 2020

John Thomas “Tom” Penn, 86, passed away at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House on July 17, 2020.  He was born April 8. 1934 in Strawberry, Arkansas to John R. and Pearl Penn.  He was a faithful member of the Nettleton Baptist Church.  He was retired form Builders Material.  He served his country in the US Army.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Blalock Penn; parents; brothers, Fred Penn and Harold Penn; sister-in-law, Clara Penn; and brother-in-law, Marshall Butterfield.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Penn, Belinda Penn, and Terri (Victor) Holt; grandchildren, Samantha (James) Renshaw, Sara Holt, and John Holt; sister, Mary Butterfield and sister-in-law, Norma Penn.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 20, 2020 at Nettleton Baptist Church with Brady Canright officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Gene Walker, Donnie Ballard, Mike Butterfield, Jerry Glover, Jimmy Bryant, James Blalock and Joseph Blalock serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Sanctuary Sunday School Class of Nettleton Baptist Church.  Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home.

The service will be livestreamed on Facebook on the Nettleton Baptist Church Page and on the website at nettletonbaptistchurch.org. Due to COVID restrictions, social distancing will be required along with facemask.
