Tom D. Bryant, 69, of Jonesboro, entered eternal rest on April 26, 2011, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.
Born in Lake City on October 21, 1941, Tom was a graduate of Nettleton High School. He lived in Jonesboro and was a master plumber. He was a United States Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam era.
Tom was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Jonesboro where he was a member of the choir. He was an author and published two novels, “What Goes Around”, and “The Tree House Adventures.” He enjoyed writing poetry and short stories. He especially enjoyed time with his grandsons.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alvie Cheshier Bryant, 2 brothers, Jim and Bill Bryant, and 2 sisters, Doris Bryant Spears and Peggy Bryant Blair.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife Alice and a son, Alan Wesley (Rhonda) of Houston, Texas. Tom is also survived by 1 brother: Don Bryant (Kay) of Choctaw, Oklahoma. He leaves behind 2 grandsons: Aaron and Taylor Bryant of Houston, Texas, and many nieces and nephews whom adored him.
Funeral Services will be graveside at Oaklawn Cemetery located at 2280 West Matthews on Thursday at 10am with Reverends Michael Sutton and Charlie Sigman officiating. A separate visitation is not scheduled, but all friends and family are invited to visit graveside prior to the service.
Active pallbearers include grandsons Aaron and Taylor Bryant, and nephews Curt Bryant, William Bryant, Jim Bryant, and Ron Smith.
The family requests lasting memorials go to St. Paul United Methodist Church choir fund located at 2201 South Culberhouse, Jonesboro, Ar. 72401.
