Todd Clayton Turman

December 25, 1971 — April 3, 2011

Todd Clayton Turman, 39, of Bay, died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at his home of natural causes.

Born in Jonesboro, Todd lived most of his life in Bay. He was a 1990 graduate of Bay High School and a 1994 graduate of Arkansas State University with a Criminology degree. Todd worked as a safety officer in the Highway Safety Division of the Arkansas State Highway Department.

Todd was a U.S. Army veteran in the First Ranger Battalion and was a member of the Bay United Methodist Church where he served as a lay leader. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Deeann Shoemaker, a brother-in-law: Byron McGhee, and by his paternal grandparents: Donald and Pearl Turman.

Survivors include his wife, Ginna Turman of the home;

1 daughter, Summer Turman, and 1 son, Mason Turman, both of the home;

His parents, Bob and Billie Turman of Bay;

His maternal grandparents, Bill and Avanell Stone of Bay;

3 nieces: Ashley Shoemaker of Little Rock, Brittani Shoemaker of Jonesboro, and Lydia Shoemaker of Bay; a nephew, Max McGhee of Oklahoma;

His father-in-law and mother-in-law: Gordon and Tellis McGhee of Bay; and a brother-in-law: Tim McGhee of Bay.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Paul Horner and Heath Williams officiating. Burial will be private.

Honorary pallbearers include the Arkansas Highway Police Honor Guard and members of the Highway Department Safety Division.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 – 3:00 in Emerson Chapel.
