Timothy P. Haas, 44, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Timothy was born in Jonesboro and lived all of his life here. He worked in the Automotive Department at Wal-Mart in Jonesboro for 20 years before becoming disabled 4 years ago. Timothy was a 1984 graduate of Nettleton High School, a past president of his 4-H Club, and was a cub scout and boy scout leader.
He was a member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church where he was active with the church youth group. Timothy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Julius and Pearl Haas, and by his maternal grandfather, William Sylvester Minga.
Survivors include his parents, Paul and Sue Haas of the home;
1 son, Timothy Jared Haas, 1 daughter, Jenna Deane Haas, and his former wife, Stacy Reed Haas, all of Farmington, Missouri;
1 brother and his wife, Chris and Misty Haas of Jonesboro;
His maternal grandmother, Edna Mae Minga of the home; and
2 nieces, Tiffany Haas and Adyson Haas, and 1 nephew, Jeremy Haas, all of Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Randy Lingenfelter and Bro Mike Book officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Terry Johnson, Mark Johnson, Randy Johnson, C.J. Johnson, Keith Perdue, John Rice, Jeremy Mattix and Gary Foster, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers include the Adult 3 Sunday school class at Prospect Church and the employees of the Highland Drive Wal-Mart.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
