Thurman “T.G.” Bolton, 90, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. He was born to the late Henry M. and Annie Bolton on November 21, 1928 in Russellville, Alabama. T.G. spent most of his youth in Steele, Missouri and graduated from Steele High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was an active member of the American Legion in Jonesboro. He was also a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Jonesboro. T.G. was an award winning salesman for Life Of Georgia Insurance Company for more than 30 years. In his free time, T.G. enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and watching westerns. In addition to his parents, T.G. is preceded in death by his first wife, Joe Bolton, three brothers, five sisters, and step-son, Don Jones.
T.G. is survived by his wife of 23 years, Louise Bolton of Jonesboro; daughter, Linda Horton (Carl) of Wynne; grandchildren, David Horton (Sarah) of Jonesboro and Sarah House (Blair) of Van Buren; great grandchildren, Lily Horton, Eli Horton, Britton House, and Ada House; step son, Larry Alumbaugh; and step daughter, Shirley Smith. T.G. is also survived by several other family and friends.
The visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. on Monday.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Robbie McMasters officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with the pallbearers being David Horton, Joey Holaway, Joe Despain, Carl Horton, Perry Long, and Joey Long.
