Thomas "Tommy" Burton Carner

Thomas “Tommy“ Burton Carner, 73, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at St Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born on June 20th, 1951, in Naylor, Missouri, to Claudie and Marie Carner.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Marvin Carner of St. Louis, Missouri.

Tommy spent his early years in Naylor, where he often shared humorous stories about the adventures and mischief he enjoyed with friends. He attended Three Rivers Community College and later dedicated 35 years of service to L. A. Darling company before retiring. For the past 17 years Tommy made his home in Jonesboro, where he was an active member of Greensboro Road Church of Christ. Known for his many talents and hobbies, Tommy took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard and flourishing garden.

He was also a skilled griller who delighted family and friends with delicious meals. Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. His kind heart and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Above all else, he was a devoted husband and family man.

Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Nina Carner; two daughters, Vickie Armbrust (Ken) of Jonesboro and Suzanne Price (Jim) of Walnut Ridge; grandsons; Eric and Deric Walley; and his cherished, great grandson, Max Walley.

Tommy‘s warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to his loved ones during this time of his loss.

A private graveside service will be held at Monette Cemetery with Ken Armbrust officiating. Pallbearers will be Henry Dean Finch, Robbie Finch, Jim Price, Eric Walley, Deric Walley and Max Walley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Finch and Ty Finch.
