Thomas (Tom) Stevens

September 1, 1939 — May 24, 2022

Thomas “Tom” Stevens, 82 of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at NEA Hospital.  Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Emily Igleheart Stevens and Charles Stevens.  Tom lived for 75 years in Kentucky before moving to Jonesboro to be closer to his brother, Jim.  Tom lived at Southwind Heights where he made several close friends and enjoyed the ice cream socials the most.

Tom was a disabled veteran who served his country in the Army in the early 60’s.

Tom’s hobbies through the years included restoring old cars, talking about old cars with anyone who would listen and watching anything related to cars on television. In his later years, his hobbies shifted more toward food.  He often had a craving for tapioca pudding and vanilla ice cream, (in a cup), milkshakes or an Arby’s roast beef and his family would fulfill this craving for him with a run to the store.

Thomas is survived by brother James (Jim) Stevens and wife Martha of Bono; 3 nieces, Gina (Roger) Wagner, Holly (Vince) Corter, Katherine (Charles) Tippy as well as 16 great nieces and nephews.
