Thomas Scercy, 75, of Jonesboro died Thursday at his home. He lived in the Jonesboro and Lake City area for the past 20 years. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Gifford Scercy, of the home; six sons, Dennis and wife Myra, of Lake City, Rickey and wife Jeannie of Providence, Rhode Island, Chris and wife Carolyn of Harrisburg, Terry and wife Linda of Bay, Billy and wife Angela of Ash Flat and Brian Scercy of Jonesboro; four daughters, Joyce Watson and husband Luther of Walnut, MS; Kim Kain and husband Jimmy of Lake City, Trisha Woodruff and husband Larry of Jonesboro, and Jackie Lawson and husband Mark of Jonesboro; one brother, Junior Scercy of Harrisburg; two sisters, Geneva Engles of Harrisburg and Mildred Adams of Atkins; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maudie Scroggins Scercy; one daughter, Debra Hopkins; three sisters, Edna Harris, Minnie Thompson, and Clara Sexton; one brother, Franklin Scercy; and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tim Hall and Rev. Earl Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
