Thomas Leon Zemery

Thomas Leon Zemery, 71, of Cash, died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at his home.

Thomas was born in Viola to Vowell and Juanita Griggs Zemery. He lived near Lake City for several years before moving to Cash 10 years ago. Thomas married the love of his life, Geneva Newton, on December 6, 1963, and they were married 51 years and 5 months.

Thomas was a painter for Monarks Cabinet Shop in Jonesboro for several years and also worked at Arkansas State University food service before he retired. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and drinking coffee and reminiscing about his past. Thomas enjoyed collecting knives, guns and jewelry. He was of the Assembly of God faith and was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ricky Leon Jones Zemery.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Newton Zemery of the home;
1 son, Thomas Zemery, Jr. (Leella Fletcher) of Cash;
3 daughters: Theresa Haner, Laronda (Norman) Harvey and Heather (Shawn) Sagley, all of Cash;
2 sisters: Kathleen Simpson of Egypt and Carolyn Crawford of Jonesboro;
9 grandchildren: LaSchelle Patton and Lisa McCall, both of Jonesboro, LaRhonda Braun of Oregon, and Steven Haner, Eddie McCall, Felecia McCall, Shaye Harvey, Pete Harvey and Cody Harvey all of Cash; and
10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Cash Assembly of God with Rev. Ron Snow officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
