Thomas E. Gambill

July 19, 1954 — September 14, 2016

Thomas E. "Tommy" Gambill, 62, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Tommy was a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro. He was a Line Clearance Supervisor with City Water and Light and retired in 2010 with 33 years of service. Tommy was a member of the Jonesboro HOG Club and was of the Baptist faith. He was past president of the Valley View Athletic Booster Club and enjoyed water sports on Lake Norfork.

Tommy enjoyed deer hunting, entertaining his grandchildren and was an avid Arkansas Razorback and Dallas Cowboys football fan. He was a charter member of the Valley View Country Club and was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer Eugene "Gene" Gambill and Sarah Ellen Leggett Gambill, and a sister, Carol Jean Gambill White.

Survivors include his wife, Ranette Gambill of the home;

2 sons and daughters-in-law: Shawn and Chelsea Gambill and Jason and Fleming Gambill, all of Jonesboro;

1 daughter and son-in-law: Kasandra and Brad King of Jonesboro;

A person raised like a son, Allen Adams;

1 brother and sister-in-law: Rick and Donna Gambill of Jonesboro;

6 grandchildren: Emma-Claire King, Colin Alexander Smith, Abree Ellen Gambill, Breckin David Gambill, Witton Thomas Gambill and Roxie Lee Gambill; and

A nephew Shannon Gambill and a niece Shelby Scarbrough and their spouses and children.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Emerson Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial will be private.

Following the funeral service, the funeral procession will depart Emerson and travel to Tommy's neighborhood, pass his home and proceed back to the funeral home accompanied by his family, friends and HOG Club members.

Active pallbearers include Mike Mangrum, John Hannah, Shannon Gambill, Allen Adams, Donnie Glenn and Ben Jiles. Honorary pallbearers include: Aaron Harris, Joe Escue, Danny Hunter, John Johnson, Charlie Spradley and Michael Burch.
