Thomas Atkinson

Thomas Atkinson, 66, passed from this life on January 20, 2023 at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro. Thomas was born on June 15, 1956 to the late Julian and Ruby Atkinson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Tommy; brothers Eddie, Jim, Jerry, and Chuck; and sister Shirley.

Thomas spent all of his life in Northeast Arkansas, with 35 years being spent in Lake City. He loved to work. If it had an engine, Thomas probably had his hands on it. He spent his time enjoying classic cars, riding the levee, and shooting his guns. Thomas was mischievous and a constant jokester. Most importantly, he loved being with his family, especially his grandkids.

Thomas is survived by his son, Brad Atkinson of Lake City; daughters, Chasidy Davis (Brett) of Lake City and Amber Serpico (Christopher) of Monette; brother, Gene Atkinson of Mississippi; sisters, Judy Howard and Doris Atkinson, both of Paragould; grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Jagger, Gabriel, and Elena; and great-grandchildren, Jace, Finnley, Abel, Waylon, and River.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, January 23, 2023 at Emerson Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will be private.
