Thomas, ”Tommy”, Richard Acey, son of mother, Rahanna Acey-Crumble left his mortal life for his eternal home on July 14, 2022. A 5 1/2 month preemie, Thomas was born on February 28, 1969 at Methodist Hospital-Central in Memphis, Tennessee and resided there for most of his life. He was a graduate of the old Memphis Technical High School in 1987 where he was a budding actor in the Thespians Club. He later joined the Marines momentarily and transferred to the US Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1997. Due to his diligence, the honors, awards, and titles Thomas received while in the Air Force are as follows: Corporal Health Services Management Journeyman (7 years and 5 months) Air Force Achievement Medal Air Force Longevity Service Award Air Force Training Ribbon Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon National Defense Service Medal NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon Air Force Outstanding Unit Award Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 1 device: He was preceded in death by; his mother, Rahanna Acey-Crumble;, his grandmother, Thelma Acey, his brother William Acey Sr., his sister, Denean Acey (all of Memphis) , and his aunt, Luchell Acey-Polk (Jacksonville, NC) He leaves to remember and celebrate his life his Auntie/Mama, Sylvian Acey-Talley; his uncle/Daddy, Richard Talley Jr.; 4 nephews: William Acey Jr. (Jeneen), Darrell Acey, Christopher Acey, (all of Memphis) and Bobby Frison (Virginia Beach, Virginia). He also leaves 6 cousins who were as brothers and sisters: Christopher Polk (Sandra) (Chesapeake, VA); Raeya Withers (Jacksonville NC); Richard Talley III. (Victoria) (Memphis), Andrea Talley (Jacksonville, FL), Matthew Talley, and Derrick Talley (Memphis). In addition, Tommy leaves X sister-in-law, JoAnn (Big Sis) Wiley, Lawanda Williams (cousin-to-be), and Latier Braxton, and Beatrice Miles (nieces-to-be-all of Memphis). He further leaves 4 friends who were like brothers to him: Antonia Donald, Quintallis Bagley, Marcus (Memphis), and Marquence Stinnett (Jonesboro, AK), and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. He left a lasting touch of kindness and humbleness in our hearts. We praise God for the time He gave us with Tommy. We thank Him for all the happiness, joys, sorrows, and tears that bound us close together. While there is a void and pain in our hearts for our beloved “Putt Putt” (another name of fondness he acquired from family while he was just a young toddler toddling through the house), we know that grieving, mourning, and sorrow only lasts for a night. Tomorrow’s light will bring joy and gladness!!!
