Theresa Hurst Parks

Theresa Hurst Parks, 75, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Alicia, Mrs. Parks lived most of her life in Memphis before moving to Jonesboro in 2000. She worked several years as a bank bookkeeper in Memphis and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband: Bob Parks; her parents: Marvin and Sylvia Hurst; by a sister: Eva Hurst; and by a brother: Silas (Ed) Hurst.

Survivors include 3 sisters: Bess Wilson of Jonesboro, and Esther Montgomery and Rachel Broadway, both of Walnut Ridge;

1 brother: Zane Hurst of Walnut Ridge;

A special nephew: Gary Parks of Nashville, Tennessee; and

Several nephews and nieces.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in Trinity Cemetery near Bono, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
