Terry “Hippie” Sevener, 62, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Sunday February 12, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born in Flint, Michigan on August 24, 1954 to Frederic and Evelyn Davis Sevener. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1975, moving here from Piggott, Arkansas. He was a caregiver and landscaper.
Terry loved to race cars at George Ray’s race track and he enjoyed showing his cars, going to shows and MOPAR racing. He was always at the Fridays Men’s breakfast at the Cathedral Baptist Church, Christian Men’s luncheon at Barnhill’s and was a member of the Sons of Thunder. He also was a volunteer at the food bank and Celebrate Recovery.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Evelyn Sevener.
Survived by his father; Frederic Sevener of Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Fiancé, Penny Luster of Jonesboro
Daughter, Brandy Sevener of Nashville, Tenn.
Brother, Brian Sevener of Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Sisters, Marilyn Nichols of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Julie Adams of Flint, Michigan.
3 grandchildren, Kaylee, Jacob and Eric Wheeling.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday February 16, 2017 at the Cathedral Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Welborn officiating. Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10-12:00 noon at the Cathedral Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Mike Philpot, Mike Barnett, Jerry Allison, Wayne Perkins, Meb Gregg and Don Robinson.
In lieu of flowers family requests that memorials be made to the Cathedral Baptist Church 2706 Alexander Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
