Terry Wayne George, 75, of Jonesboro, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. Born on February 15, 1949, in Jonesboro, he was the beloved son of the late Otis and Opal George. Terry’s life was a testament to his faith, family, and dedication to his community. As a retired pastor and devoted member of Cathedral Baptist Church in Jonesboro, he spent his life guiding others with wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Terry had a deep love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding solace and joy in nature’s embrace. His passion for cars was evident in his frequent ventures into buying new ones, and he was known among his friends and family as a gun enthusiast, always keen to discuss the intricacies of his collection.
Preceded in death by his cherished wife, Patricia George, Terry’s legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his son, Christopher George (Jamie) of Bay; two daughters, Melissa Bodeker (Adam) of Bono, and Kelly Pierce of Dyersburg; his brother, Don George (Kim) of Nixa, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jakob, Nikolas, Luke, Ella, Christin, and Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Millie. Beyond his immediate family, Terry leaves behind a wealth of friends who will forever remember his warmth, generosity, and steadfast spirit.
The family invites all who knew and loved Terry to a memorial visitation on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
