Terrie Denise Goodwin

January 1, 1971 — March 13, 2020

Terrie Goodwin of Goobertown lost her battle with cancer at the age of 49 on Friday, March 13th of 2020 at Saint Bernard’s Hospital. Terrie loved life, her cats, and her kids. She was a light for wayward souls. Terrie will indeed be missed.

Life Story:

Terrie was born on January 1st, 1971 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center to Dale Letner and Barbara Toombs. She attended Jonesboro High School and eventually completed her GED. She grew up with her siblings Crystal, Ronnie, and Steven along with friends and family that cherish her dearly. Terrie loved everyone in her life and felt so strongly about each person she came into contact with.

Terrie loved her music, her cars, and her writing. She would write her thoughts, ideas, quotes, and song lyrics on everything she owned. Her writing was incredibly important to her and she always kept her journals private. She followed astrology closely and loved to read anything that excited her curiosity. She loved her cats with all her heart, and took care of each one as if it was her own baby. She was a headstrong woman that could accomplish anything that she set her mind to and would help anyone in a heartbeat. Family extended beyond blood with Terrie. She has been called mom many times in her life by multiple people. She was very in touch with her emotions, and because of this her passion rubbed off on everything she touched. It was visible in her art, her writings, and her soul. Her love could never be duplicated.

Family:

Terrie is survived by her children Braddie Eads, Brianna Cook and husband Carl, and Glen Goodwin; her mother Barbara Toombs and husband J.T., and father Dale Letner and wife Sharlene; her siblings Crystal Brewer and husband Jeremy, and Stephen Letner and wife Twana; aunts and uncles Dennis and Caprice Payne, Regina Worsley, Robert and Linda Love, Andrew White, Connie (Red) Newsom, and Tommy Shannon; nieces and nephews Ethan, Caitlin and Gage, Madelynn, Victoria, Olivia, Xander, Emrie, Zoie, Brylee, Carter, Gauge, and Sawyer; and great nephew Camden; along with relatives that have a place in her heart like Dylan Payne; as well as countless individuals and children that were family to Terrie. She was mom to so many in her life. She was also survived by her lifelong friend Van Eads.

Terrie was preceded in death by her brother Ronnie Letner and uncle Terry Payne.

A special thank you to everyone for supporting the family through this difficult time.

Due to the health concerns with COVID-19 the family has decided to postpone the memorial service to a later date that will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home.
