Teresa A. Schneider

Teresa A. Schneider, 86, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Weiner to Henry and Sophia Ruesewald Ritter, Teresa lived in Weiner before moving with her family to Jonesboro in 1943. She was a 1950 graduate of Holy Angels Academy in Jonesboro, and worked as a surgical technician for many years at St. Bernard's Medical Center before marrying Lawrence Schneider in 1968 and retiring to be a full-time mother.

Teresa was a very active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she served 37 years as a Sacristan. She enjoyed canning and preserving food, cooking for her family and friends, and traveling. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bernice Elias, three brothers: Donald Ritter, Henry Ritter and Paul Ritter, and daughter-in-law Linda Schneider.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Schneider, Jr. of the home;
1 daughter: Diann and her husband Andrew Thomas of Monett, Missouri;
2 sons: Andrew Schneider and his fiance Sheila Williams of Harrison, and
Mark and his wife April Schneider of Jonesboro;
2 brothers and sister-in-law: Raymond and Mary Ritter of Jonesboro, and Charles Ritter of Caldwell, Idaho;
6 grandchildren: Noah Schneider and wife Blythe, Andrea Cope and husband Jeremy, Levi Schneider, Gabe Schneider, Donovan Thomas and Avery Thomas; and
1 great granddaughter, Stella Schneider.

A rosary service will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will follow the rosary until 8:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Bernards Auditorium, 505 E. Washington Ave., Jonesboro, with Monsignor Jack Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers include Noah Schneider, Levi Schneider, Andrew Thomas, Donovan Thomas, Avery Thomas and Chris Ritter.
