Talmadge Fields, 83, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1997, moving here from Newport. He served his country in the US Air Force. He was a member of the VFW. Talmadge was a member and deacon at the Valley View Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Kaye Ferrell; son, Donald Wayne Fields; parents, Leo and Rosie Fields; and a brother Jerry Fields.
Survivors include his wife of ten years, of the home, Bonita Carlton Fields; daughters, Kelly Kaye Jester and husband, Chris of Jonesboro; Gwendlyn Stewart of Bald Knob; sons, Todd Norris and wife Ami of Newport; Barry Carlton and wife Angie; Lee Carlton and wife Cindy all of Jonesboro; brother, Jimmy Fields of Tuckerman; sisters, Catherine Burrow and Debbie Fields of Newport; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April, 10, 2021 at the Valley View Church of Christ with Spencer Furby officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Haynes Cemetery near Swifton with Chad Phillips, Justin Phillips, Barry Carlton, Lee Carlton, Ethan Norris and Kerry Bradsher serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Lawson, Jamie Lawson, and the Elders and Deacons of the Valley View Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time on Saturday.
