T. Clifford Toney

T. Clifford Toney, 57, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born in Dallas, Texas on February 17, 1958 to the late Almon and Flora Toney.

Cliff received an Associate Degree at Southern Baptist College (Williams Baptist), a Bachelor Degree at Ouachita Baptist University, and then he received his Masters in Religious Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a local Auctioneer, Real Estate investor, and bred Champion Labrador Retrievers (Craighead Kennels). In his dealings with his Labradors, he became a certified American Kennel Club Judge.

Cliff was a member of a pioneer Jonesboro Family and cared deeply for his community. He was a unique, intelligent, and caring man. Cliff was also a member of Central Baptist Church and an avid supporter of Williams Baptist College. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cliff is survived by his cousins, Carolyn W. Goebel, Bill Cox, Lita Nash Verts, Carol Nash Smith, Stacey D. Schingle, William B. Richardson Jr., Harry Richardson, Ray Richardson, and Gary Johnson. He is also survived by his aunts, Norma Threadgill and Ann Threadgill from Gainsville Texas along with several other cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home with Dr. Bobby Worthington officiating. Burial will follow at City Cemetery with the active pallbearers being David Dickens, Terrell Carr, Steve Mullen, Richards Werline, Ray Werline, and Larry Kelley.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
