Syble Greenwood

Syble Greenwood, 85, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Craighead County Nursing Center. She was born at Cane Island and moved to Jonesboro in 1948 from Trumann, Arkansas. She was a longtime member of Northside Church of Christ and more recently a member of Stone Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Greenwood in 1990; her parents, Charlie and Edith Hunt; step-father, Charlie Gann; one daughter Verna Halstead; one son, Jerry Greenwood; and one grandson Rodney Greenwood.

Syble was survived by sons, Jim Greenwood, Memphis, Tennessee; Jack and Debbie Greenwood, Lynchburg, Ohio; daughter, Sheryl and Vince Tesch, Jonesboro; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dick Blackford and Herbert Knight officiating and burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers are Jack D. Greenwood, Jerry Tesch, Jack V. Greenwood, Billy Halstead, Vince Tesch, and Shane Gregory. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Greenwood, Dewayne Greenwood, Jay Greenwood and Ben Olsen.
