Susan Wallace, 68, a lifelong resident of Lake City died, Monday, November 14, 2022, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born in Lake City on August 18, 1954, to Rector and Pearl DeFries. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake City. She was one of the biggest Cardinal baseball fans around. Spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren was a priority. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mack DeFries.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, James Wallace, of the home; sons, Jamey Wallace and his wife Jamie of Lake City; Matt Wallace and his wife Brandi of Black Oak; Adam Wallace and his wife Brooke of Jonesboro; daughter, Megan Wallace of Lake City; brothers, Rector “Junior” DeFries of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi; Lynn DeFries of Caraway; and Dan DeFries of Rosebud, Arkansas; sisters, Diann Chisenhall of Pensacola Florida; Joan Culbreath of Coldwater, Mississippi; grandchildren, Emily, Will and Ty.
