Sue Alice Cranford Williams

Sue Alice Cranford Williams, 93, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Jonesboro Healthcare. She was born July 16, 1926 in Sidonia, Tennessee to the late Lester and Azilee Cranford. Sue lived in Dyersburg, Tennessee in the early part of her life. While in Dyersburg, as a teenager, Sue worked at the Hut. She later moved to Memphis and worked for Stein Mart for several years. Sue was a member of Ross Road Church of Christ in Memphis. The last 25 years of her life were spent in Jonesboro and Brookland, AR, where she was a member of Brookland Church of Christ.

She was a wonderful cook, had bible studies with neighbors and friends, and enjoyed playing bingo and Rummy. Sue loved music and played in a ukulele band with a group of seniors. She was quick witted and loved to tell jokes, and stories of her childhood and was known for her outlandish socks. Most of all Sue loved the Lord and her family.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by Floyd Williams, whom she had been married to for 43 years; her brother, L.E. Cranford, and her sister, Mary Katherine Garlock.

Survivors include her sons, David Williams of Greenville, South Carolina, Mark (Tracie) Williams of Germantown, Tennessee; daughters, Katherine (Rich) Sherrel of Las Vegas, Carol (Rick) White of Jonesboro; 12 grandchildren: Brandi (Kyle) Widick, Rebecca (Paul) Cossey, Wade Williams, Wesley Williams, Marlie Williams, Amy Krumm, Jessica Timberlake, Matthew Williams, Anthony Austin, Tomee Austin; Ryan McGill, and Tanya Laughren , numerous great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and her dear friend Stephanie Rankin.

We would like to give a special thank you to all her care givers at Jonesboro Healthcare, especially, Jackie and Danielle.

A memorial service will be Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 1:30 at Grace Point Church of Christ with Bro. David Gibson officiating. A private burial will follow.
