Sue Broughton

July 23, 1928 — January 5, 2014

Sue Broughton, 85, of Walnut Ridge, died Sunday, January 05, 2014 at the Craighead County Nursing Center. She was born in Bono and lived most of her life in Walnut Ridge. Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walnut Ridge. Sue was a great mother and loved her children and grandchildren. Sue was very active with her church nursery, and Vacation Bible School. She used her gift of helping others by delivering carnations for birthdays. Sue loved to cook and shop and was a very good bargain hunter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bob Broughton; her parents, Ralph and Orpha Dunham; sister, Maude Edwards; brothers, Earl Dunham, Clyde Dunham and Roy Dunham.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Schlueter (Gary) of Bono; Sandy Uran (John) of Rossville, Tennessee; Sharon Grogan (Bill) of Paragould; grandchildren, Robert Grogan and Lee Grogan both of Paragould; B. J. Schlueter (Paula) of Brookland and Brandon Schlueter (Krista) of Bono.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Reverend Rick Clark officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery with grandsons and sons-in-law serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gale Brewer, Bobby Davis, Russell Dunham and Tom Sloan.

Visitation will be from 5-7 Tuesday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
