Steven Joe Turman, 64, of Jonesboro, departed this life on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Steve was born June 5, 1955, in Jonesboro and lived his entire life in Nettleton. He was a 1974 graduate of Nettleton High School and a 1975 graduate of Jonesboro Practical Nursing School. Steve started his nursing career in 1975 at St. Bernards Medical Center and was an ICU nurse there for over 30 years until ill health forced his retirement nine years ago.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents: Leon and Imogene Jaquess and his father, M.L. Turman; three sisters: Deloris White, Devonia Brown and Vada Stiles; and a brother-in-law: Billy Wayne Brown.
Steve is survived by his brothers, Burl Turman of Jonesboro and Gerald Jaquess (Linda) of Henning, Tennessee;
sister, Margaret Drumwright of Blytheville;
brother-in-law, M.D. White of Jonesboro;
a nephew, Chad Brown (Cindy) of Jonesboro;
great niece, Cassie Rowland of Jonesboro; and
great, great nephew, Jaylan Rowland of Jonesboro.
A visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday in Emerson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday at Emerson with Rev. Don Martin officiating. Following the memorial service visitation will continue until 7:00 p.m. Private burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery.
