Steven Dowdy

Steven Dowdy, 53, a lifetime resident of Jonesboro, died Monday, June 13, 2022 at St. Bernards Medical Center.  He was born in Walnut Ridge on July 7, 1968, to Junior and Charlene Dowdy.  As a cattle farmer, he loved being outdoors.  In addition to cattle, he raised all sorts of barnyard animals.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and any activity that had him outside.  Other hobbies include woodworking and knife making.  He was very accomplished at any venture he did.  Playing the guitar and singing is something he could do for hours.  Steven is whom you would consider a friend’s friend.  He loved being around people and making them smile.  In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Dowdy.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Kathy Dowdy, of the home; his daughter, Kaeleigh Dowdy and (Jace); mother, Charlene Dowdy; brother, Jordan Dowdy; sisters Leann Martin and Mica Clements, all of Jonesboro; many other relatives, friends and church family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brad Robinson and Nathan Robinson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Charley Cummings, Manuel Dowdy, Blake Dowdy, Tyler Schroader, Jonavan Dowdy and J.J.
