Steve Loroy Talley, 77, of Jonesboro, formerly of Brookland, departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2026, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born on May 14, 1949, in Jonesboro to the late Steve Talley and Opal Caudle.
Steve was a hardworking man who took pride in his work and the life he built for his family. He owned and operated Talley’s Appliances for many years before later working for Terminix. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army National Guard from 1969 until 2003. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ.
In his spare time, Steve enjoyed playing slot games on the computer, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, watching NASCAR, and listening to music, especially The Eagles. He had a soft spot for his family’s dogs and enjoyed helping take care of them. Above all, Steve treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. Whether sharing a laugh, enjoying his favorite music, or simply being together, he found joy in the everyday moments spent with the people he loved. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; his half-sister, Diane Gilbert; his half-brother, Tim Coudle; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 33 years, Gail Talley, of the home; his son, Bradley Talley (Karlee) of Jonesboro; his stepsons, Nicholas Blalock of Jonesboro and Marcus Blalock of Salem; his daughter, Savannah Talley of Jonesboro; his brother, Glen Talley (Deanie) of Jonesboro; and his aunt, Jean Gandy of Brookland. He also leaves behind many cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. James Johnston will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
