Stephen Odell Pagan, 70, of Jonesboro, AR, met Jesus, his Lord and Savior, face to face on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR, with his loving family by his side. Born on January 21, 1956, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR, Steve was the son of Herbert Odell Pagan and Bonita Holleman Campbell.

Steve was the third-generation owner of Pagan’s Jewelry and worked for 48 years as its first graduate of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). His passion was obvious through the artistry he displayed in creating unique jewelry for his community. It gave him great pleasure to be the jeweler for multiple generations of families.

He and his wife, Kathy, served in many ministries at Central Baptist Church during their marriage. The sixth-grade Sunday School department held a special place in their hearts for nearly 30 years. Steve also served as a deacon and was involved in the bus ministry until his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer last October. He served as a member of the Iron Riders of Christ (IROC) motorcycle ministry for 14 years.

Steve was a loving husband of 50 years to his high school sweetheart, Sara Kathryn Cook, and a loving son to his mother, Bonnie Campbell of Jonesboro, AR, and stepmother, Beverly Pagan of Jonesboro, AR. He was a wonderful dad to his sons, Christopher Alan (Ashley) Pagan of Jonesboro, AR, and Brian Odell (Mallory) Pagan of Coral Springs, FL. He was an amazing Grandpapa to five grandchildren, Cali and Vinson Pagan of Jonesboro, AR, and Asher, Mason, and Micah Pagan of Coral Springs, FL.

He will be greatly missed by his brothers, Don (Diane) Pagan of Mountain Home, AR, Jeff (Sammye) Pagan of Jonesboro, AR, and Kevin (Carmen) Pagan of McAllen, TX; sister, Lisa (Tommy) Davis of Mountain Home, AR; stepbrothers, Grame (Joan) Campbell and Craig (Ann) Campbell of Glasgow, Scotland; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris and Doug Burris of Austin, TX, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends, all of whom have special memories with him.

Steve dedicated his life to serving others through his generosity, his time, his teaching, his mentoring, and the many passions he shared with others. He touched countless lives. He loved water sports, horses, Golden Retrievers, fishing, hunting, camping, riding motorcycles, driving his Corvette, and especially scuba diving. Of all his passions, scuba diving held a particularly special place in his heart. It was a love he shared with his boys and grandchildren, creating adventures, memories, and time together that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

The visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Central Baptist Church with the service following at 2 p.m.

The burial will be held prior to the main service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Steve’s nephews: Josh (April) Pagan of Jonesboro, AR; Chase (Dawneen) Pagan of Rogers, AR; Matt (Elisabeth) Pagan and Jonathan Pagan of Fayetteville, AR; Michal (Roxanne) Davis of Mountain Home, AR; Drew Davis of Conway, AR; Alec (Jackie) Pagan of McAllen, TX; Kyle (Maleena) LeMiere of Seattle, WA; Tim (Susan) Burris of Spicewood, TX; and Kevin (Cheryl) Burris of Thrall, TX.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the J.H. Williams Life Group Class.

A special thank you is extended to Steve’s doctors and friends, Dr. Willie Hurst, Dr. Dick Stevenson, Dr. Jaime Chavez, Dr. Brandon Williams, Dr. Mike Sifford, and Dr. Ben Owens; the staff at the Ben Owens Cancer Center; the staff at MD Anderson in Houston, TX; and the nurses at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Missions and the NEA Humane Society.
